Hi there! This is Jacob, a Year 3 Event & Experience Management student in PolyU and the current president of AIESEC in PolyU!
As an event student, I always strive to give people an exceptional experience, where they unlock warm memories every time they look back to their experiences. It was the only thing that I wanted to do and nothing else, which shifted my perspective when I joined AIESEC.
As a local non-Chinese who studied in a local secondary school, I was raised to be academically-driven, keeping my eyes on books and left no doors open to explore. Stuck in my little comfort zone and expecting nothing more. But, it was AIESEC that helped me see things in a new perspective and what potential I could unlock within myself, whether they be through public speaking or leading people from all walks of life.
AIESEC is not just a place where you meet people. It is a place that thrives in authenticity, curiosity and challenges. In the term 2025-26, we strive to stay curious and look ahead, inspiring our members as we were once inspired. As I step into my third year in AIESEC, from a member to a vice president and currently the president, this organisation has shaped me to someone who believes that this space is for us to grow,

Outgoing Global Volunteer
oGV
What is oGV? Do I get to go on exchange and volunteer in different countries?
Actually, you will be the experience manager of curious and adventurous youths in PolyU, looking to explore beyond Hong Kong and grasp unique experiences!
The growth and lessons you will receive in oGV are multidisciplinary, as we continuously cover different customer stages within our exchange products, and passionately guide our exchange participants to discover their potentials and unlock fruitful experiences.
At oGV, you can grasp different skillsets, learn different attitudes, and have plenty of practical experiences! You will be able to learn pitching and product development techniques through our exchange products, communication and adaptability skills through talking to various people around campus and meet motivated youths from other countries sharing the same exchange passion while helping others to achieve their goals, discover their potentials and unlock unique experiences!
In oGV, there will be moments of challenges and self-doubts, but nothing is more rewarding than continuously pushing through the adversities and reaching a momentous ending for each experience, the process is everything in oGV. Don’t worry, you will also go on exchange with AIESEC, but nothing is more rewarding than seeing the payoff from your continuous efforts, and seeing others grow through your bonding and guidance!

Hello! I am Joshua, a Year 2 student studying Fashion Design at PolyU, and also the Local Committee Vice President of Outgoing Global Volunteer of AIESEC in PolyU!
You might be thinking, “What is a fashion student doing here in oGV or AIESEC?” Well, as a newly enrolled freshman, I had big ambitions to explore beyond my major through meeting different people, never saying “no” to new experiences, and staying curious within all new opportunities, which brought me to AIESEC! After joining this organization, I quickly realized that it is full of the most hard-working and dedicated youths, engaging with each other, caring for each other in various settings, and being resilient through different challenges, forming the Big Beans family!
Thanks to AIESEC I learned new skillsets beyond my major, achieved many small and big personal goals, and met the closest people in my university life with whom I am proud to work with earnestly everyday to keep gaining new experiences.
But then, why oGV? Perhaps just like you, I was a disillusioned youth stepping into university, a vast and unknown environment, with many goals and ambitions in mind, who also wanted to be empowered to drive for social change, but did not know where to start as a “small potato”. Growing up as an experience manager, I quickly realized that I had to work harder than others in order to get to the places that I wanted to be because of many sad realities and harsh experiences. I wanted harmonious cross-cultural understanding and people to be bonded over mutual respect and love. oGV became a place where we continuously encourage others to step outside of the box, to explore the world and exchange with AIESEC, to discover our potential in social change, cultural understanding, and self-development. OGV is a place for you to continuously learn and grow, to keep fail and learn new perspectives, and gain invaluable experiences that are unachievable elsewhere. I discovered that ambition without action is just anxiety.
Through oGV, I broadened my cross-cultural understanding, bettered my communication and learned how to think adaptively. I also learnt product development and pitching strategies, customer relationship management skills, and grew beside my bold, curious, and passionate exchange participants to explore, engage, and exchange.
Together through oGV, we can bridge the boundaries of our increasing separated and divided world, and grow beside each other through challenges.

Before I joined PD, I never thought I’d do anything business-related. But joining PD gave me experiences I never imagined I could grow in. I got to interact with corporate world, push for collaborations, connect with brilliant alumni in the AIESEC community, and even organise amazing events! 🫶

Hii everyone!! I’m Aimee, currently in year 2 studying product design. I am also the Vice President of Talent Management of AIESEC in PolyU!!! A little fun fact about me is that my face turns red easily whenever I experience shocking emotions. 🍅
AIESEC for me is a very warm place where I have a community to support me in my growth and whatever I want to do :> I also got to meet a lot of new people not only from PolyU but also from other universities through AIESEC.
