About Us

We are Big Beans (理大粒豆) from AIESEC in PolyU🌱

Here in AIESEC in PolyU. We strive to provide a platform that celebrates the diversity of our members, like a vibrant variety of beans🫘. Despite our individual differences, we thrive to nurture one another’s potential, helping each person grow into their resilient, purposeful, and authentic self.

Through AIESEC, we recognize that our diverse experiences and background are what allow us to learn and support one another. Just as beans grow into big, nourishing plants🌸, we too can grow into our full selves by fostering an environment of mutual understanding and care.

In Big Beans, we value...

#Resilient

To embrace challenges to develop ourselves

#Purposeful

To take action with drive and tanacity

#Self-discovery

To find and understand our authentic selves

Hey there! I’m Xena, a Year 3 Social Design student in PolyU.

Being a Design student (which is notorious for being a hectic and sleepless programme), I initially wanted to focus purely on my academic studies, with no intention to fully commit to any university clubs, societies or organisations… Until I came across AIESEC.

From being a reserved, 97% introverted person, I was able to reach beyond what I thought were my limits thanks to the opportunities and impacts I was given by AIESEC. These included myself delivering sessions and speaking in front of hundreds of people, joining conferences in overseas countries (i.e. Thailand), and leading different groups of youth at the age of 20-21.

Cutting to the chase, it is never easy being in AIESEC for almost 3 years from a member to a Vice President to finally a President. But the AIESEC experience is something that everyone should atleast try. It is a place for us to be comfortable, accept our differences and expose ourselves to trial and error. And in 2024-2025, we aim to impact and inspire our members the way we were inspired.

Whether our path is undetermined or not, all we have to do is to take that first step to wander and explore, seeing what underlying experiences await us.

So, what exactly is the AIESEC doing? Promoting exchange of course! 👄🔥 If you believe in exchange and love to operate a product , then Outgoing Global Volunteer (oGV) will be your cup of tea~😍

Staying in our department is not only being a member, but also being a MANAGER 😎 to coach and support our exchange buddies. ✈️ You’ll have the chance to meet with so many PolyU students, sometimes their stories may IMPACT you as well.🩵Additionally by working closely with our international partners, you’ll gain invaluable cross-cultural communication skills, 🗣️ problem-solving abilities, and the kind of adaptability that employers are actively seeking.😽

Well, you don’t need to be an extrovert or even a genius in our department. 🫣 Later on, you will find your own way to approach or work with different groups of people/strangers. 👀🩵

oGV is more than what you can expect. 🫵 It’s also an opportunity that will not only transform the lives of our participants, but also YOUR OWN. 🌟 You can choose to impact a person’s life with the power of words or be a passerby in his/her life. What impact do you dream of?

In oGV, you will learn:

  • Customer servicing skills (eg: Customer relationship management)
  • Product development skills (eg: Product packaging)
  • Event management
  • Crisis & change management
  • Strategic Planning
  • Communication Skills (including Pitching)
  • International Relationships Management
  • Data Analysis

Aiyooo! This is Joyce, Vice President of Outgoing Global Volunteer in AIESEC in PolyU 😘, currently as Y2 Language Science,Translation and Speech Therapy and I was a member of oGV last year too! 👻

I heard about a high school in Chicago, if students didn’t pass a course, they got the grade “Not Yet”.

And I thought that was fantastic, because if you get a failing grade, you think, I’m nothing, I’m nowhere. But if you get the grade “Not Yet”, you understand that you’re on a learning curve.

“Not Yet” also gave me an insight into my AIESEC’s journey. 🥳Last year as an oGV member, I was given with a lot of exposures to unleash my potentials ✨such as working with different departments (TM,ER,FLAIM,MARCOMM,oGT),event planning, product development and management etc. 🤤I realised that AIESEC is just like a playground for you to try everything and it is not a big deal to fail!😚

that I’m still here,
that I stayed,
that I stepped out.

So staying here one year already, am I ready to run for this product? NOT YET, because I’m waiting you all to join oGV🫦

TMI: I love Kpop and soap drama lol👀 and really feel free to find me chitchat anything 😚

When talking about AIESEC, we usually think of exchange, but normally in the form of volunteering, going to remote areas of the world, helping small communities, and creating impact, right?

So, you may be wondering, why does AIESEC even have Global Talent as its program too? Why would there be internship opportunities? How does that even relate to impacting the world?

That question is something I have always asked myself throughout my membership term, but once I started to gain experience in Global Talent, I realized and found out how interestingly hard it was to imagine Global Talent’s contribution to exchange at first thought, yet the answer was ever so simple.

If you are curious to know 👀, COME JOIN ME! Not only I’ll tell you the secret, but I’ll also take you on a journey of understanding exchange from a whole other perspective. A journey where you can take the lead to lead others, find your value in the value of others, and set your goals through the goals of others.

Hey there! It’s me Ri (not really my real name. for now gonna be a secret🤫), the Vice President of Outgoing Global Talent! I am a Y2 student in Mechanical Engineering.

Before joining AIESEC, the whole world was never the way I see it now. As an engineering student, I was always stuck on the tangible and important things in my life. Focused with precision and calculation, I never knew how much I was positively or negatively impacting the people around me. Let alone even know myself.

AIESEC became a place where I am being properly introduced to myself, and how the small things I thought were unimportant in our lives harmonize with other many things in our daily lives. It has become a journey of realizing the overlooked and exploring the further unknown.

As someone who came 3000km away, AIESEC provided me a home, a family, and a place to settle, to experience all the greatness of university life and Hong Kong through a wide, transparent, and warm lens. A place that still hugs me for truly being myself.

Incoming Global Talent (iGT) is a place where you can make exchange and change happen as a university student ✨️

In iGT, you have the opportunity to explore your potential and push beyond your limits. You will get the chance to make cultural exchange happen by introducing our products to our potential business partners 👨‍💼👩‍💼 At the same time, you will provide the warmest support to our Exchange Participants by helping them adapt to Hong Kong and feel at home in our community 🏠

Here, you will gain knowledge beyond your major and develop skills that will be invaluable in your future career. If you are looking to discover your hidden potential and strengths, iGT is the perfect place for you! 🌍🌎🌏

Helloooo 🙂 This is Yoyo, the Vice President of iGT in AIESEC in PolyU 🧱 I am a year 2 surveying students.

I never imagined that being here would help me explore so much beyond my major. iGT has given me the chance to learn about the business world, interact with people from diverse backgrounds, and expand my social connections. I truly believe that everyone here has the opportunity to uncover their hidden potential and achieve excellence.

One fun fact about me is that I love dumplings so much that I could eat them every day and I even have a dumpling keychain on my backpack! 🥟

Marketing and Communications (MarComm) is a department where you can unleash your creativity, putting your ideas into practice and see how much of potential you have.

You don’t need to be a design wizard 🪄︎︎◝✩ or a pitch master – all you need is a curious heart to learn and the enthusiasm to participate!

In MarComm you’ll have the chance to learn about:

  • 🎨 Design
  • 💡Promotional Event Planning
  • 📊 Data analysis
  • 🗣️ Pitching
  • And so much more! (that’s where you can contribute 👀, we all learn from each other!)

Looking for a team where your ideas are respected, where we work hard play hard towards the same goal? MarComm is just the right place for you!⸜(* ॑꒳ˆ* )⋆*☆

Hellooo!!! Mary here (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎), the Vice President of MarComm in AIESEC in PolyU. I am a Year 4 Fashion Business student and was a member of MarComm last year too!

In AIESEC, I was able to gain hands-on experience on how to do a marketing promotion, and most importantly, it helped me realise the potential within me. It’s surely a place where “the more you give, the more you gain.” ✨

You can also find a group of amazing, “firm” (work hard and have fun), inclusive people! You will have the chance to meet other AIESECers (abroad or at other universities), not just at PolyU! 🤩

It says a lot already when I am VP (of two departments) in year 4. 👀

Hey yah! Winki here :D, one of the managers of MarComm. Currently a Year 2 ENGL student in PolyU.

To me, MarComm is a place of growth & challenges.

It is a place where you can utilize your logical and creative side, by exploring new ideas for content creation and executing ideas through meticulous preparation.

In addition to working with a team of like-minded people who are also seeking personal growth and striving to improve like you.

I never considered myself an outgoing person or a creative person, but after joining MarComm and challenging myself to do many things that were outside of my comfort zone (e.g. pitching in front of people, designing materials, crisis management etc. etc.) I realized I can do so much more, while also discovering my strengths and potentials for excellence (ง’̀-‘́)ง.

Also looking for a challenge for yourself? Join MarComm to start your journey of self discovery and skill development!

Hi y’all! I am one of the Manager of MarComm in PolyU 𖤐´- Currently a Year 2 Fashion student and welcome to this page!

For me, joining this community was a remarkable change to myself. Not only did I learn specific skill sets, also it provided a platform for me to have a better understanding of myself, that it shapes who I am now💭

Su-su-super excited to meet every one of you in this community through out the year<3

Hii guyss💆🏻‍♀️Here’s Jacqueline, a yr2 student from SFT✨ Long story short, so why AIESEC?

In addition to a resume constructed with words, what else is here❓

During my freshman year, I realized that as a university student, many things depend on myself😔. If the opportunity comes, I have to know how to strive it🤔; if the opportunity has not yet arrived, I have to know how to fight for it🔥

Therefore, I believe that joining this organization is the ‘ opportunity ’ I have been ‘ striving ’ for and the place that provides the opportunity to ‘ fight ’🔆 It’s a place where you’ll feel like you belong and where your ideas and contributions are valued.🗣️🗣️🗣️

Through this place, I can learn how to be a leader, meet people from other universities in Hong Kong who share the same goals and topics, and participate in various summits overseas.🌍

Not only do I get to take things seriously, challenge myself, and achieve things that I could never achieve alone🫡, but I also get to have fun through various external and internal summits and internal gatherings. It’s an experience that promises personal growth and enjoyment.💙

If you want to make your time at the university, work hard, play hard, and live hard, you are welcome to join us🤍
